We are the exclusive authorised dealer in New Zealand for Hitachi Construction Machinery, Bell Equipment, HSC Cranes and John Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment, as well as an authorised Service Dealer for Scania Trucks and Buses.

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven National HSE Manager to be responsible for the development of consistent Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures and their practical implementation through education and regular monitoring of compliance.

In this role you will be working closely with our national branch network consisting of approximately 400 staff members and 15 branches nationwide. You will also work with our sister company, Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia, who will support you in delivering solutions to ensure the safety and well-being of all CablePrice employees, contractors and visitors.

Reporting to the General Manager - Finance and Administration, your duties will include:

  • Develop and implement health, safety and environment policies, systems and procedures in line with current legislative and industry standards
  • Identifying opportunities for and deliver training to both staff and management
  • Provide guidance and support to the company network including branches
  • Managing accident investigations and RTW plans
  • Detailed reporting and analysis activity, at both regional and national levels.

To be successful in this challenging role you will need:

  • Experience in developing and implementing health and safety systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation
  • Good commercial acumen
  • An inquisitive analytical mind with strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in the heavy diesel transport industry or similar type industry is advantageous
